Carlos Sainz Sr. shared an emotional message after driving the 2024 Ferrari F1 car in Fiorano. Sainz Sr. was joined by his son, who had lately departed the Italian squad. Carlos Sainz’s last race for Ferrari was the 2024 F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Before the 2024 season, the team announced that Lewis Hamilton would replace the Spaniard for the 2025 and subsequent seasons.
Since the real move will take place after December 31st, 2024, Sainz and his father travelled to Fiorano for a special session with Ferrari F1 vehicles. Sainz and Sainz Sr. were allowed to drive F1 vehicles at the Fiorano circuit. This was a unique session led by a Maranello-based team, as part of a grand farewell to Sainz. Ferrari had planned to bid farewell.
