Lamine Yamal In Danger Of Ending Up Like Unwanted Teammate

It is no stretch to say that Barcelona have started suffering from Lamine Yamal Dependency. With the 17-year-old on the pitch, Los Cules are on another level in terms of footballing capabilities. But this has in turn had an adverse effect on the well-being of the Spanish youngster. And Lamine Yamal is truly in danger of ending up like his damaged teammate Ansu Fati who suffered from similar circumstances when he first started out and now is a player unwanted by his own club.

With Barcelona losing against Leganes, they have dropped points in La Liga and it’s only a matter of time before they lose their lead at the top as well. And with an important game coming up against Atletico Madrid, they have lost the most threatening weapon in their arsenal. As Lamine Yamal suffered an injury during their match last weekend and has been sidelined for at least 3-4 weeks. He is set to miss up to 3-4 games depending on the extent of his injury.

During the second part of the first half, Lamine Yamal was brutally tackled by a Leganes defender causing a major sprain in his ankle. This was the same ankle that was injured not more than a month ago which has caused him almost a month-long lay-off in the first place.

What Has The Doctor Said About Lamine Yamal?

FC Barcelona has stated that it is a Grade 1 injury to the ligaments, Dr Ripoll a surgeon who specializes in football has said the matter is much more complicated. He stated to Cardena SER, “The prognosis is much more uncertain. He has played 80 per cent of the games and last year he reached 91%. [Barcelona] will do well to let him heal completely and without any rush… A diastasis can occur, which is the separation of the tibia and fibula due to the lack of this membrane, leaving the ankle in a very unstable state.”

Hansi Flick and FC Barcelona might have to find a winning formula that is oblivious to the involvement of Lamine Yamal if they want to succeed in their upcoming games and let Lamine Yamal have the rest he deserves. Otherwise, the Spanish Protege might turn into yet another Ansu Fati.
