Gukesh Vs Magnus Destined In Norway Even After Carlsen’s Rejection

After becoming the Chess World Champion by beating Ding Liren, Gukesh humbly stated that winning the World Chess Championship doesn’t make him the best player in the world. Not when Magnus Carlsen still exists that is. Answering a reporter’s question at the press conference, Gukesh expressed his desire to test himself against the World No. 1. Meanwhile the Norwegian Grandmaster still seems to be disinterested in taking up that fight against Gukesh D at the biggest stage of them all.

Magnus Carlsen stated on the Take Take Take YouTube channel, “It’s not going to be me. I mean, let’s talk about Gukesh and the match and so on. I’m not part of this circus anymore.” But as destiny would have it, Magnus Carlsen will be facing off against the Youngest World Chess Champion in history quite soon. According to the recent reports on the internet, this matchup could take place no later than in May 2025, just 5 months from now.
