Celebrations unfolded at Raje Sambhaji Bhosle Military School during a sports festival marking the birthday of Shiv Sena leader and former MP Chandrakant Khaire. The highlight of the event was the inter-school Kho Kho competition, where Kr. Waghmare Prashala emerged victorious, securing the coveted title.
Organized by Raje Sambhaji Bhosale Sainiki School and District Khokho Association, the district-level competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from 26 teams. Notable contenders included Zilla Parishad Prashala (Manoor), A. Kr. Waghmare, Raje Sambhaji Bhosale Sainiki School, and Saraswati Bhuvan Vidyalaya, all of whom advanced to the semi-finals.
The final showdown, featuring Zilla Parishad Prashala (Manur) and Kr. Waghmare, unfolded as a thrilling contest. Kr. Waghmare secured the championship by outplaying defending champions Zilla Parishad Prashala, claiming victory by a margin of four points. Zilla Parishad Prashala secured the second position, while Raje Sambhaji Bhosale Sainiki School triumphed over Saraswati Bhuvan Vidyalaya to secure third place.
Kr. Neel Bhadane from the Waghmare team showcased exceptional defensive skills, Sarthak Salunkhe of Zilla Parishad Prashala displayed a remarkable attack, and Mehul Gavit of Raje Sambhaji Bhosale Sainiki School received recognition as the all-rounder.
Former mayor Sudam Sonawane distributed prizes, joined by prominent figures such as Adv. Sagar Killarikar, Govind Sharma, Bappa Dalvi, Sachin Khaire, and Rishikesh Patil. The winning teams received monetary rewards and were honored with cups and certificates.
The dedicated efforts of Subhedar Namdev Sawant, Mohan Ahire, Anil Jagtap, Jitendra Jain, Kiran Joshi, Abhay Nandan, Deepak Sapkal, Ajay Tupe, and Shripad Lohkare contributed to the success of the competition.
