Joaquin Buckley’s Retirement Threat Is A Smokescreen Of Fear

Joaquin Buckley has been closely monitoring Colby Covington’s Twitch activity. During their final fight before UFC Tampa, the rising welterweight threatened to terminate Covington’s career and send him to streaming. ‘Chaos’ has been very active on Twitch lately. The majority of his live streams are online gambling sessions and fan Q&As on his UFC fighting history. In recent streams, he has discussed several issues.

Including his loss to Leon Edwards and his impending battle with Buckley. Buckley has gone 5-0 in the UFC since dropping down to welterweight, including a knockout victory over Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson. Covington has been a strong contender in the category but has a 2-3 record in his previous five fights, including a unanimous decision loss to former champion Edwards. He has not defeated any of the current top 15 welterweights.

Colby Covington is the betting underdog against Joaquin Buckley in UFC Tampa and hopes to pull off an upset. According to Bet Online’s odds, ‘New Mansa’ is a -265 favourite while Covington is a +225 underdog. A $100 wager on Buckley yields a payoff of $137.74, while betting on Covington yields a more profitable $325 if his hand is raised.

Joaquin Buckley is overcompensating

Previously Colby Covington criticised Khamzat Chimaev in his most recent rant. Covington cited the ‘SMASH’ meme incident and accused Chimaev of defrauding his followers. For example, early this year, Chimaev received criticism from many sections of the MMA community for utilising his social media channels to promote the digital meme coin ‘SMASH’. The 30-year-old’s strong push prompted the cryptocurrency’s value to surge, but a sharp drop the next day caused others to panic.

They had been tricked; in response, ‘Borz’s manager, Majdi Shammas, admitted responsibility. He stated that he agreed to produce a quick video promoting the coin’s debut without performing adequate study. It’s not the first time Covington has targeted Chimaev. ‘New Mansa‘ said, “Look, this dude has been quiet, he plays a character, now he wants to be soft with it. So at the end of the day man, we’re going to go out in that cage bro, we’re going to retire this man and send his a** off to Twitch, let’s get it.”
