For all the great things Real Madrid stands for in the history of European Football, they are also very notorious for wasting away footballing talents. Los Blancos historically have housed some of the greatest ever footballers this planet has ever seen. Unlike their arch-rivals FC Barcelona who proudly wear their academy La Masia as a crown jewel, Real Madrid’s academy La Fabrica cannot boast such levels of producing talent regularly. But that is seldom an issue, as Real Madrid more often than not has the ability to buy any player they want in the market due to their pull and aura coupled with the promise of going into the history of the fabled club.
While that’s a huge positive for Real Madrid, it presents a very unique negative aspect. Many times, players who bide their time for Real Madrid in their Youth System grinding away to get a chance in the First team never get recognition. And also, a case we will discuss today, where a huge talent gets overshadowed by a Superstar signing who is favoured more and more at the club. A similar thing happened with Martin Odegaard who later joined Arsenal. And look how that turned out. So who are these players currently at Real Madrid who are rotting away their careers?
Real Madrid Are Killing The Footballing Careers Of This Trio
Firstly, Arda Guler, the Turkish prodigy. The 19-year-old created quite the stir when he joined Los Blancos after declining arch-rivals Barcelona last season. A season later he finds himself tied onto the Real Madrid bench. With Jude Bellingham, Fede Valverde, Camavinga, and Brahim Diaz all ahead of him, Arda Guler has managed more minutes on the pitch for his National Side Turkey this season than for his club.
Secondly, it is the very much neglected, Endrick. The man created an insane aura around him from a very young age, even getting compared to the Brazilian Great, Pele. But unfortunately for him, these comparisons seem way out of proportion as ever since joining Madrid he has scored a solitary goal and hardly found more than 20 minutes to be on the pitch. The 18-year-old has found it hard to adjust to the level of the Spanish division and needs to move out on loan before burning out on the bench.
Last but not the least by any means is the Brazilian winger Rodrygo Goes. From one point of view, he is supposed to be the 4th spear in Madrid’s attacking quarter of him, Mbappe, Vinicius Jr, and Jude Bellingham. But the way it looks, he is often the sacfricial lamb in that quartet. If the game isn’t going to plan ,often he is the first one subbed off. Moreover, with Mbappe and Vinicius in the team, he would never get a chance to perform on the Left Wing, the place he flourishes the most. A talent of his calibre deserves to have more quality oppurtunities to prove a point.
