Diljit Dosanjh has been waving his flag all over India with his back-to-back concerts. The singer whose tickets sold out in minutes is truly the pride of India. It’s not just the Indians who groove over the bhangra beats of Diljit, the singer has a huge fan base in foreign countries as well. Being introduced as the biggest Punjabi singer alive on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show, he indeed needs no introduction all over the music industry. Diljit Dosanjh has outranked not just his contemporary singers but himself too.
Diljit Dosanjh didn’t limit himself to singers, he conquered the acting world as well with his outstanding performance in ‘Chamkila”. It’s impossible to have one of the biggest tours going on in your country and not to have any controversies. Dilijit Dosanjh has been on the news ever since his concert started. And you know you’re on reels for the good part and on the news for the bad ones. Despite giving a lively experience to his fans, the series of complaints about Diljit Dosanjh’s concert hasn’t stopped.
When his first show in India took place in Delhi, the aftermath of the show was not too good. The next morning, there were various complaints from people and sportspersons about making the stadium inhospitable for any sports activity. The singer was claimed to have made it so dirty with bottles of alcohol left all around the stadium. Moreover, Diljit Dosanjh was immensely criticized when a sportsperson posted a video of cleaning the stadium himself in the morning. Earlier the Telangana government sent a notice to Diljit Dosanjh demanding not to sing any song promoting liquor or drug use in his concerts.
In response, the singer didn’t just take it as an order but it’s safe to say the Telangana government will be holding a grudge against him for a long time. During his show in Hyderabad, Dilijit Dosanjh commented on this issue saying I would stop singing songs that promote liquor only if the government decides to ban alcohol. Well Well, when you’re such a superstar it’s fair of you to not let go of things without any savageness. This move by Diljit Dosanjh might be triggering for some people but I honestly think his response was well asked for.
Let’s see what will be the upcoming move by the singer or the government in the coming days.
