5 Auction Buys That Will Win RCB The IPL Trophy

Royal Challengers Bangalore have always been star studded but yet have failed to win the IPL even once. Ahead of the Auction, RCB chose to let go of a lot of big name players in turn retaining most of their auction purse. They succeeded in retaining 83 cr in total, more than any other franchise in the IPL for this auction except PBKS.

This means that some serious business awaits then in the upcoming auction and the list of players they would rather go for is quite long. But the best thing for RCB is that they still have their talisman who is said to be going to captain the side once again, Virat Kohli. Along with Bengaluru’s adopted son, RCB have also retained Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal.

This means they have three Indian players who can change the game on their day. So now let’s take a look at 5 must have players for RCB at the IPL 2025 Auction which will finally bring them glory for the first time in the IPL.

  1. Yuzvendra Chahal

The moment RR let go of Yuzvendra Chahal, everyone just had a feeling that RCB will be going gung-ho for one of their very own. The highest wicket taker in the History of the IPL, should have never left the Bangalore franchise in the eyes of many. And it might be time to bring him back to where he belongs.

In the last Mega Auction, the Indian right arm leg spinner was let go by RCB and Wanindu Hasaranga was signed as his replacement. That didn’t work out as well as RCB had hoped as Hasaranga turned out to be a flop while Chahal kept mesmerizing everyone with his talent.

  1. Kagiso Rabada

PBKS have a lot of purse remaining, and a lot of slots still to fill in. This would mean that their RTM Gameplay at the Auction will be quite crucial. Moreover, Pace bowlers, especially of Indian origin will be expected to steal the majority of the limelight in this auction. Arshdeep Singh will most likelt get roped in for the PBKS with the RTM option. So what about Kagiso Rabada, their other Pace dynamite?

RCB will strike gold with this buy at the IPL auction if they can manage to get him in. With him leading their bowling attack, even the Chinnaswamy can be a pressure cooker. Imagine arch rivals Virat Kohli and Kagiso Rabada playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

  1. Ravichandran Ashwin

RCB’s problem over the years has been to prioritise stars over geniuses. They need players who can bowl to a plan on a difficult pitch like the Chinnaswamy. Here’s where Ravichandran Ashwin comes in. There honestly might not be a more experienced and smart bowler in the world than Ravichandran Ashwin.

He most likely won’t get the RTM option for RR and so this gives RCB the opportunity to sign someone who would bring mastery in RCB’s spin department with immense experience and quality.

  1. Jos Buttler

A great choice for RCB considering their need for a Wicketkeeper-Batsman and also an opener. Jos Buttler can be the perfect batting partner for Virat Kohli at the top of the order with his brilliant virtuoso and aggressive style of play. Over the past few years, Buttler has been often amongst the top batters in the IPL as well.

RR most likely will go for someone younger to pair up with Yashasvi Jaiswal and this leaves RCB with the perfect opportunity to snap up Jos Buttler. Imagine Buttler ravaging havoc at the Chinnaswamy.

  1. Will Jacks

This will be down to whether RCB use their RTM on him or not. A bowling option who can be destructive is a hard player to let go of. Will Jacks proved his mettle last year with a magnificently fast-paced 100 against the Gujarat Titans last season when he made Virat Kohli beam with excitement on the non-striker’s end.

Will Jacks will provide all the firepower that’s needed for RCB in the batting unit along with Rajat Patidar and Virat Kohli. It would be ideal for RCB if they can manage to rope the Englishman in for less than 10 Cr with the RTM option.
