You would think that adding arguably the best player in the world, to a team that won the Supercopa de Espana, La Liga and the UEFA Champions League last season would make them even more unstoppable. But apparently, it has had the opposite effect. Real Madrid are anything but unstoppable at the moment. With Kylian Mbappe in their team, their quality has dropped massively since last season.
Kylian Mbappe’s Negative Effect On Real Madrid
Not only have Los Blancos seen one of the poorest starts to a season since the disastrous 2018/19 season. But they have been battered by teams too in recent times. That too at the Santiago Bernabeu. First, it was Barcelona in the all-important El Clasico, where they conceded 4 at home. A disastrous performance from Kylian Mbappe was the highlight of the match with the French Striker being caught offside a record 8 times alone. Just to put it in perspective, that’s a La Liga record for being the player with the most offsides since the 2010/11 season.
Even in the Champions League, a competition they are the self-proclaimed “Kings” of. Real Madrid have not been impressive at all. From their first 4 matches, they have registered only 2 wins. With the other two results being losses, the first one against Lille. The other loss came against AC Milan at the Santiago Bernabeu with a scoreline of 3-1.
Kylian Mbappe Is The Worst He Has Ever Been
Ever since his breakthrough season at AS Monaco, Kylian Mbappe has never experienced a trough in his career graph like he is experiencing right now. Not only does he seem out of touch, but he isn’t racking up goals and assists either. In 16 matches for Real Madrid this season, the French forward has just 7 goals and 2 assists to his name in all competitions. To put that into perspective, 36-year-old Robert Lewandowski has already scored 19 goals and provided 2 assists in as many games for FC Barcelona this season.
According to recent reports, Kylian Mbappe has NOT been called up by Didier Deschamps to play for the French National side in their upcoming Nations League fixtures. Mind you, he is the Captain of the French National Team! And still, he hasn’t been called up to play! Didier Deschamps also stated that it was “Not a non-sporting reason”. Which basically tells you all that one needs to know about Kylian Mbappe’s form.
Mbappe is Better on the left wing. Not as a Striker. But the problem at Real Madrid is, that Vinicius Jr plays on the Left Wing. Who is arguably the best left-winger on the planet? So why would you join a club that has the best player playing in your position? And if it was evident that Mbappe doesn’t play as a striker well, why would you buy him?
