Arjun Kapoor who has been facing criticism for his acting ever since I could remember has finally got the chance to bask in appraises and success. The return of Singham at the box office is not only benefiting the directors with loads of good response from the audience but it has got Arjun Kapoor back in the game.
When the film has a plot that involves police, action, Kareena Kapoor, and the greatest of all time Singham himself, Ajay Devgn one can hardly expect the villain to shine through in the audience. The lead role in highly commercial movies like Singham always overshadows the character of a villain. And to impress the audience at this level with his role is truly a big achievement for Arjun Kapoor. Arjun Kapoor made quite an impression in the first initial years he started acting. Debuting with Ishaqzaade to giving memorable performances in movies like 2 States, Gunday, and Half Girlfriend, one could have easily thought of him being the next superstar. Well, that didn’t happen. I think Arjun Kapoor’s downfall started in 2016 when he Ki and Ka, which really didn’t suit his genre of acting. Soon after that every movie of his failed at the box office. No one knew what went wrong. Was it the movie choices, the acting, or the audience? He faced so much backlash for his failure that people started criticizing him for not knowing how to act. In an episode of “Koffee With Karan”, Arjun Kapoor opened up on how this affected him mentally. He went into depression for quite some time which also had some bad effects on his physical health.
We could never run out of reason to appreciate Arjun Kapoor for his performance in Singham Again. Arjun Kapoor who has mostly done youthful and soft-hearted roles, must have adapted a lot of acting techniques to play a villain. To get on board with as big a franchise as Singham was a big step. Knowing that this particular role requires complete intensity and action and yet delivering it with perfection. Arjun, you really are the man of the hour!
Comment down if you want to see Arjun Kapoor doing more of such intense roles.
