Paddy Upton’s Unique Approach Will Lead D Gukesh To World Championship Title

Ahead of the World Chess Championship Gukesh Dommaraju, who recently helped India win its first team gold medal at the Chess Olympiad, is currently training with renowned mental coach Paddy Upton. The 18-year-old grandmaster has openly discussed the emotional difficulties he has faced on his path to becoming the world’s third-youngest grandmaster. D Gukesh will face the defending champion in Singapore next month for the 2024 World Chess Championship title. Paddy Upton, who led the Indian men’s cricket team to a World Cup victory in 2011. He helped the men’s hockey team win Olympic bronze this year and began mentoring Gukesh four months ago.
