There is a very good reason why Real Madrid are known as the Kings of The Champions League. And they proved it against Borrusia Dortmund last night after they made a humongous comeback against the German outfit in the UEFA Champions League at the famed Santiago Bernabeu with a stellar display from the soon-to-become Ballon d’Or winner, Vinicius Jr.
At the time, the reigning European and Spanish Champions Real Madrid found themselves 2-0 down to the visitors. But at the Bernabeu, Los Blancos are never out of the game, until the final whistle is blown. Just like all those magical nights in Madrid, this time with Vinicius Jr on fire, they turned it around and sent the Germans back home humiliated.
With the way Real Madrid have been playing this season, Carlo Ancelotti surely must be under pressure from his higher ups and under contention of being sacked. But there was a saviour for the Italian Manager last night in the form of the current Madrid number ‘7’, Vinicius Jr.
Carlo Ancelotti owes not being sacked to Vinicius Jr
The Brazil forward is on a mission of shutting up his haters once and for all. They say the greatest players stand up when their teams need them the most. And time and again Vinicius Jr has been stepping up for his club.
With his team down 2-0 at home, he took it as an opportunity to show the world that it is him and noone else who deserves the Golden Ball at the Ceremony taking place 5 days from now. Scoring a hat-trick for his team, Vinicius Jr played an important part in Madrid’s comeback. Say Madrid had went on to lose their 2nd Champions League encounter in a row.
It wasn’t far away from the reality that Carlo Ancelotti would have been sacked. The Madrid Manager shall be glad to have a player like Vinicius in his ranks who can change a game on his own with ease.
