Sisters Shrutika Sarode and Vaidehi Sarode of Pune created a new history when they represented India in the World Skate Championships held in Italy.
The Indian women’s roller derby team defeated China 127-39 to win the bronze medal. Led by Shrutika Sarode, the Indian team created a new history by winning the bronze medal. This is the Indian team’s first-ever medal in roller derby competition.
Both Shrutika and Vaidehi are sisters. Shrutika Sarode has been awarded the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Award by the state government of Maharashtra. Shrutika Sarode captained the Indian team in this tournament. This team’s performance has been the best ever.
