In the ongoing National Youth, Junior, and Senior Weightlifting Competition at Nagrota (Himachal Pradesh). Akanksha Kishor Vyavaya performed brilliantly in both the youth and junior groups. She won two gold medals. Lifting medals in 83 kg in the 66 kg snatch category and 149 kg in the clean jerk category. Mukund Aher celebrates a hat-trick of gold medals.
In this event, Mukund Santosh Aher represented the Indian Railways team. This was his third consecutive senior group national event and won the gold medal. Mukund won the tournament by scoring a hat-trick of medals. In the 55 kg category, Mukund won the gold medal by lifting 254 kg including 113 kg snatch, and 141 kg clean jerk.
Manmad athletes shine in the weightlifting nationals
Manmad athletes have grabbed everyone’s attention with their brilliant performance in the national weightlifting competition. Both Akanksha and Mukund have been mentored by Chhatre Vidyalaya sports coach Praveen Vyavaye, international coach Tripti Parashar, Central Railway coach Abhilash Christopher, and Rajesh Kamthe.
Maharashtra Weightlifting Association Secretary Santosh Simhanse and President Sudhir Mhalskar congratulated Akanksha and Mukund and wished them good luck for the next competition.
