Taekwondo Gets A Kickstart: Namdev Shirgaonkar Becomes VP Of Commonwealth Union

India Taekwondo President Namdev Shirgaonkar has been elected as the Vice President of Commonwealth Taekwondo Union. Namdev Shirgaonkar is a historic achievement for the Indian Taekwondo community.

Namdev Shirgaonkar created a new history by being elected as the Vice President of the Commonwealth Taekwondo Union at South Korea’s Chuncheon Hotel. This is an important event in the history of Indian Taekwondo. The main reason for this is that Namdev Shirgaonkar is the first Indian to hold the post of Vice-President of the Commonwealth Taekwondo Union. His achievement has brought immense pride and joy to the entire Indian Taekwondo community including players, coaches and officials.

President of Taekwondo Association of Maharashtra Sandeep Ombase expressed his happiness and said that the selection of Namdev Shirgaonkar is a big historical step for Indian Taekwondo. After being elected as the Vice President of the Commonwealth Taekwondo Union, Namdev Shirgaonkar said, “I am very humbled and honoured to be elected as the Vice President of Commonwealth Taekwondo Union. This designation is not only a personal milestone but also a symbol of incremental progress. My focus will be on getting Indian Taekwondo recognized globally, strengthening ties between Commonwealth countries, developing grassroots programs and getting the necessary support and exposure for our athletes, and coaches.”
