UFC 307: Khalil Rountree Will Pose The Biggest Threat Yet To Alex Pereira

Alex Pereira ever seen joining the UFC has been on a mission to be “inevitable”. His only loss in the UFC has come against Israel Adesanya, his long-time rival who Pereira has defeated thrice throughout his martial arts career. But now, in front of him stands his biggest challenge yet, Khalil Rountree Jr. The Light Heavyweight bout for the UFC Championship is scheduled in the Main Event of UFC 307 just one night’s sleep away at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Main card will commence at 7.30 am IST and fans will be eagerly waiting for the two monsters to get locked up against each other inside the Octagon. Khalil Rountree Jr has been racking up wins for fun and has been on the UFC circuit for much longer than “The Poatan”. Rountree Jr has an MMA record of 15-4-0(1NC) and is on a 5-match win streak which has earned him his first shot at the UFC Lightheavyweight Title.

Standing in “The War Horse’s way will be the current 205lbs Champion Alex Pereira. The 37-year-old knocked out Jamahal Hill flat in the first round of the fight at UFC 300 and proved yet again why his left hook is perhaps the deadliest weapon on this planet. Buy going up against Khalil Rountree might just prove to be the limit, because if Alex Pereira has immense strength, so does Khalil Rountree.

Khalil Rountree is all muscle inside the octagon and to counter his strength is no easy feat. Just ask some of his opponents who had their lights punched out. Watching the way Khalil Rountree goes about his business would make you think, he is Israel Adesanya, but slower, stronger, and bulkier. The southpaw has that one punch ko power which is also characterizable to Alex Pereira. The one who connects that Left Hook tomorrow first might very well take the UFC Championship Belt home.

This possibility of having someone knock out the other fighter is what brings spice to this matchup. So who shall reign supreme in the Delta Center tomorrow? My prediction is that Alex Pereira will reign supreme yet again. Let us know your opinion in the comments below.
