Frank Ocean: The Generational Talent Who Left Us Waiting

Frank Ocean took the world by storm with his 3 album run from 2012 to 2016 right from dropping his debut album, the critically applauded, Channel Orange in 2012 which carried a pop r&b sound throughout the tracklist to dropping one of the best music albums of all time in my opinion, Blonde in 2016.

Frank Ocean has always been a dear artist for his fans. But, after Blonde in 2016 Frank barely released new music in the following years and completely disappeared from the public eye after the tragic passing of his younger brother in August of 2020.
Ocean released his last album 8 years ago, that too without any label backing him. Blonde, over the years, has been given the classic status, and the whole album right from the intro “Nikes” is an emotional ride taking us through his relationships, heartbreak, and the nostalgia related to it, all of this with his dreamy tunes and ambient beats all throughout. He is one of the most innovative musicians this generation could have, but the issue persists about him not releasing any more new music.

Frank last appeared publicly with his highly anticipated Coachella 2023 performance but the show left a lot of his fans disappointed as they complained about Frank not playing more than half of his discography let alone sing them live!
More than a year later, fans are still waiting for his new album but we still don’t know if, or when, is ocean dropping that new album. Are you waiting for his new album too?

If yes, drop your thoughts about the whole Frank Ocean scenario in the comments!
