Dwayne Bravo’s ‘Champion’ Spirit At KKR Will Quest For Glory

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will be more exciting and scintillating. All the teams will be re-shuffled as a mega auction is ahead of the competition. More players will be going under the hammer and some new names will also be added. The rich cash league has given rise to many young cricketers who later played for India.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are the reigning champions of the toughest T20 league in the world. The Knights’ dressing room completely changed since the inception of Gautam Gambhir as a mentor. However, the former KKR captain has left the side after giving back the side’s lost glory. The Southpaw has become the head coach of the Indian National Men’s Team. After his departure, the franchise was looking for a perfect replacement. There were several names associated with the team.

The Purple and Gold side has decided to go with former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Dwayne Bravo. The Trinidadian cricketer has ended his long and celebrated journey at Chennai Super Kings, with whom he won four IPL titles in different roles. He announced his departure from all forms of cricket the day before the announcement. The 41-year-old was caught having a conversation with KKR CEO Venky Mysore during the CPL before agreeing to the contract.

Dwayne Bravo will lead KKR better than Gambhir

Can Bravo carry the legacy of Gambhir at KKR? It will be really big shoes to fill in. Gauti as a captain has won the IPL twice with KKR and then once as a mentor. Bravo will also look to continue the glory and win the silverware in the new colour of Purple and Gold. Apart from KKR, he will be in charge of all franchises under the Knight Riders label in T20 leagues. These are Trinbago Knight Riders (CPL), Los Angeles Knight Riders (MLC), and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (ILT20).

He has played 582 T20 matches, taken 631 wickets, and scored around 7,000 runs. Bravo has won more championships than any other cricketer, making his experience unmatched. Bravo said in a video released by the franchise, “I’ve been part of the Trinbago Knight Riders for the last 10 years in the CPL. Having played for and against the Knight Riders in various leagues, I have a lot of respect for how they operate.”
