Aman Sehrawat’s struggle story of a young wrestler is heart-touching

Young wrestler Aman Sehrawat created history by winning the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics. Aman became the youngest athlete to win an Olympic medal for India. He won an Olympic medal at the age of just 21. Winning an Olympic medal in Paris was not at all easy for Aman. Aman’s journey was full of hardships. Aman lost his parents when he was just 11 years old.

After that Aman had to face all kinds of problems, despite losing his mother and father at a very young age, Aman made the playground his new home and became the first Indian to win an Olympic medal at the age of 21. After the death of his parents, Aman’s uncle took him to Chhatrasal Stadium, and from there, his story begins. Aman was born in Birohar village in Jhajjar district of Haryana.

Aman, who made the wrestling arena his new home, had written on the wall of his room, ‘If it were that easy, everyone would have done it.’ Now Aman has emerged as an inspiration for all upcoming wrestlers. Seeing Aman’s Olympic bronze medal after a great struggle will inspire others. He too can win an Olympic medal at the age of 21.

He defeated North Macedonian wrestler Igorevo 10-0 in the first round of the Paris Olympics. After this spectacular victory, Aman defeated Albanian wrestler Abakarov 12-0 in the second round to secure a place in the semi-finals.

A tough journey to the bronze medal for Aman Sehrawat

However, the semi-final match did not go well for Aman and he lost 10-0 against Japan’s Higuchi. Aman qualified for the bronze medal after losing in the semi-finals. Then faced Puerto Rico’s Derian Toi Cruz in the bronze medal match. The wrestler then made way beating Cruz by a margin of 13-5 to win the bronze medal.

The family members and villagers had arranged to watch Aman’s wrestling on TV in a house built in a hut (dhani) in the field of Birohar village. After Manu Bhaker in the Paris Olympics, the eyes of the country were now on Aman Sehrawat and Aman created a new history by winning the bronze medal with a defiant strategy.

The shadow of Aman’s parents disappeared from him at an early age. His mother Kamlesh passed away in 2013 and his father Somwar Sehrawat in 2014, but losing both parents at a young age did not dampen Aman’s courage. The family planned to send eight-year-old Aman to Delhi’s Chhatrasal Stadium. His mother had passed away six months before he left for Delhi. Father died six months after going to Delhi. Aman belongs to an ordinary farmer family.

Their share is only two and a half acres of land. After the death of his parents, Aman was raised by his uncle and grandfather. Aman’s sister Pooja is currently studying BA first year. Currently, Aman’s grandfather Mangeram, his uncles Sudhir, Jayveer, and uncles Ranveer, Karmveer, Ved Prakash, etc. live in a small hut (dhani) built on a dirt road leading to Naugaon, two kilometers away from the village.
