In a thrilling showdown at the Dr. Annasaheb Inter College Hockey Tournament organized by the Poet sister Bahinabai Chaudhary Jalgaon Division under Uttar Maharashtra University, MJ College emerged victorious. The hockey enthusiasts witnessed an intense battle as MJ College secured the title by defeating the Nutan Maratha College team with a commendable 4-goal lead.
Hosted at Bendale Women’s College ground under the watchful eyes of G. D. Police drill, the tournament saw spirited participation from six boys’ teams. Dr. P. N. Tayde inaugurated the competition, setting the stage for a series of gripping matches.
RPI Santosh Sonawane, Manoj Surwade, Santosh Surwade, RSI Salunkhe, along with Selection Committee Members Dr. Chand Khan, Dr. Akhtar Khan, and Dr. Asif Khan graced the occasion with their presence, adding to the event’s prestige.
While the tournament celebrates skill and sportsmanship, people argue that inter-college competitions may inadvertently prioritize competition over academic pursuits.
