Indian boxer Amit Panghal disappoints against Patrick Chenyemba

India has already won two medals in the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. Amit Panghal suffered a shocking defeat in the very first round of boxing at the Paris Olympics. Zambia’s Patrick Chenyemba ended Amit’s challenge by dominating the entire match. With this defeat, Amit is out of the Olympic competition.

The fight between Indian boxer Amit Panghal and Zambian Patrick Chinyemba was fierce. The Indian boxer fell behind in the first two rounds. In the first round in the 51 kg weight category, the judges gave 3 points to Amit and 10 points to Chinyemba. In the second round, Amit Panghal could not make a comeback in the match. 

Two umpires gave Amit 10 points and three umpires gave Chenyemba 10 points. Zambian Patrick Chenyemba dominated the third round defeating Amit Panghal 4-1. Chenyemba was defeated by Amit Panghal in the Commonwealth tournament. In the 51kg Round of 16 bout. 

Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Krasto fails to qualify

In the women’s doubles Group C, Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Krasto were defeated 15-21, 10-21 by Setyana Mapasa and Angela Yu of Australia. The Indians finished fourth in Group C after losing three games in the group stage.
