The Physical Education and Sports Teachers Federation has warned that physical education teachers should be recruited. This comes after the proposed changes in athlete reservations should be cancelled. Otherwise, a non-cooperation movement will be called in the organization of school sports competitions. Kailas Supekar, Dada Gadade, Kiran Patil, Shahaji Bhosle, Himmat Khadke, Ajit Wadavkar, Dada Shingade, Principal Dr. Sanjay Nagarkar, Bharat Tambe, Santosh Bhujbal, Prahlad Salunke etc were present. The very written statement has been sent to the City Collector, Sports Commissioner, and Sports Minister Sanjay Bansode.
The statement said, “We are requesting to implement the reference 1 government decision issued by the government by changing the set approval criteria and prioritizing the teacher recruitment phase 2 and giving preference to the physical teacher post in the teacher recruitment. Since the physical teacher post was recruited in a very insignificant manner in the previous post recruitment, the post should be recruited by applying the new criteria. Otherwise lakhs of BPEd and MPEd graduates will drop out of the system.”
Government plans to boycott sports competition
The draft plan that was proposed by the Government regarding the change in player reservation should be cancelled. As before, the state should maintain job reservations for meritorious sportspersons. Athletes have achieved the state qualification by putting in a lot of hard work and wasting precious study time.
But if the government wants to create a new system. If they deny the opportunity to these players, it will be a great injustice to millions of players in the state. Due to this change, players can commit suicide like farmers due to depression. This is not good for Maharashtra, which is at the top in the field of sports.
Further adding, “Therefore, the government is requested to sympathetically consider our demand and recruit the post of physical teacher in the second phase of teacher recruitment and cancel the proposed changes by keeping the position of 17-19-year-old state-qualified athletes in the 5% reservation.” There has been a warning. The government will not cooperate with the government’s sports competition from 15th August. There will be no cooperation with the government in organizing and planning the school sports competition.
