Pune’s St. Vincent’s High School secured victory in the state-level under-17 football championship held at Udgir. The team’s outstanding performance, notably by Sean Pereria, Aaron D’Souza, Jared D’Souza, and Kelvin Andrews, earned them a spot in the National School Football Tournament in Andaman Island later this month.
The journey to the title began with St. Vincent’s High School defeating Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar 2-1 in the tournament’s early stages. Facing the Agnel School team from Mumbai division, Pune’s team continued its success, securing a 3-2 victory and advancing to the finals. In a closely contested final match against Kolhapur’s team, St. Vincent’s emerged victorious with a 5-3 scoreline after the game ended 1-1 at the scheduled time.
Sean Pereria, Aaron D’Souza, Jared D’Souza, and Kelvin Andrews’ exceptional contributions in the tournament have earned them the opportunity to represent their school in the upcoming National School Football Tournament in Andaman Island.
