Usyk Becomes World Champion


The Ukrainian fighter is the first fighter in 25 years to hold all four major heavyweight titles. He is also the first undisputed champ since Lennox Lewis. Usyk began the fight with a flourish, winning the early rounds before Fury mounted a comeback. Usyk weathered the storm and turned the tide. The referee even had to stop the fight for a moment after one of the 37-year-old’s punches made Fury see stars. The Briton had been undefeated so far, but the Ukrainian’s late comeback. The Ukrainian’s thoughts went to his late father who passed away in 2012. Furthermore, he also paid tribute to the Ukrainian armed forces who are defending the country from the Russian invasion. Fury was completely against the decision. He alleged that they were biased towards the country at war.
