Lebron James’ Lakers stint may be coming to an end. The Lakeshow was eliminated by the Denver Nuggets on Monday Night. They were thoroughly outclassed by the defending champions. The Purple and Gold have been defeated in consecutive years by Nikola Jokic and Co. and this may hurt their morale and may even call for a shift away from their current team. Their starman has given his all to the organization. Lebron is drained and maybe a move will be the best course of action for both the player and the team.
Big Decisions For Lebron
After Game 5 of the first round, Lebron answered questions from journalists. Many doubts were raised, but one question that stood out in particular was directly about King James’ future. The veteran was asked whether this was the last time he’d don the famous purple and gold kit. Lebron refused to answer the question. It seemed that the 4-time MVP was yet to process the Lakers’ loss. The King isn’t the only important Laker under doubt. Head Coach, Darvin Ham may also leave. Ham is on the hot seat after consecutive playoff eliminations to the Nuggets.
Rebuild Or Reload?
Ever since winning the title in 2020, the Lakers haven’t reached the NBA Finals. Despite winning the inaugural in-season tournament, they were relatively average in the regular season. This season has been a turning point for the Lakers. The fans and the officials within the organization may be convinced that it is time for a rebuild. The Lakers have a strong base of players already. Austin Reeves, Rui Hachimura, Anthony Davis but their overreliance on Bron has been their Achilles Heel. Perhaps if Lebron leaves for a team that is actively competing for championships. The Lakers can also cash in for Lebron and earn a few first-round picks and maybe even a superstar. A split may be the best deal for both parties involved.
