The MIT Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Heritage Half Marathon, hosted by the enthusiastic ‘Black Bucks’ organization, painted the streets with triumph as Pratibha Nadkar and Angad Kanhere claimed victory. With an astounding 1362 participants from cities nationwide, the marathon traced a scenic route from the historic Daulatabad Fort to the renowned Verul Caves.
From the crack of dawn, the H2O Waterpark area buzzed with energy, attracting runners of all ages and fitness levels. Meticulous planning and execution marked the event, distinguishing it as a hallmark marathon. Veteran marathon runner Venkat, serving as the race director, ensured the smooth flow of the event.
The marathon featured three distances—10 km, 21 km, and 25 km—each with eight groups for both men and women. The oldest participant, aged 83, and the youngest, at 16 years and 10 months, added a diverse and inclusive touch to the event. The marathon was flagged off by MIT Director Yagyaveer Kawade, Entrepreneur Mukund Bhogle, and Sanjeev Auto’s Sanjay Kulkarni.
The thrilling competition showcased remarkable performances, with runners navigating the challenging Daulatabad ghats. The results reflected the diverse talents and age groups, emphasizing the inclusivity of the event.
As Pratibha Nadkar and Angad Kanhere stood atop the winners’ podium, the MIT Heritage Half Marathon not only celebrated athletic prowess but also underscored the spirit of unity and camaraderie among participants from various corners of the country.
