India’s star badminton player Lakshya Sen has reached the semi-finals of the ongoing All England Open Badminton Championship in Birmingham.
In the quarter-finals, Lakshya Sen reached the semi-finals with a hard-fought 20-22, 21-16, 21-19 win over former champion Lee Zee Jia of Malaysia. Lakshya Sen will now face Jonathan Christie in the semi-finals. Jonathan Christie is an Indonesian player who is ranked ninth in the world.
In the quarter-finals, former champion Li Zi Jia took the lead by winning the first game 22-20. However, after that, Lakshya Sen gave an amazing performance and won the next two games by a margin of 21-16, 21-19 to maintain his lead.
In 2022, Lakshya Sen reached the final of the All England Open badminton tournament and had to settle for the runner-up position. 22-year-old Lakshya Sen advanced after winning the quarter-final match which lasted 71 minutes.
