Indian Premier League (IPL) is the oldest T20 franchise league in the world. The rich cash league will be entering its 18th edition, with a lot of fantastic matches and memories it has come through over the years. The auction is set to take place on the 24th and 25th of November 2024. It is set to take place outside India for the second time, at the Abadi Al Johar Arena, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The 2025 edition will be much bigger and better with 1,574 players listed, with 1,165 are Indian, and 409 from overseas. These players comprise 320 capped cricketers, with 48 Indian and 272 foreign talents vying for franchises. Along with budding prodigies looking to create a name for themselves on the IPL stage. All the 10 franchises have retained the required number of players before the big auction.
As the dates are near we today take a look at Gujarat Titans (GT). The team has already retained their key players Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Sai Sudharsan, and Rahul Tewatia. They have a purse left of 69 crore INR and will look to add more firepower to the squad at the auction table. We dive into the possible players GT can buy in the auction.

5. Jake Fraser McGurk
The Australian explosive opener showcased his form last season with Delhi Capitals (DC) he scored 330 runs for Delhi Capitals. GT needs a strong opener who can help with the high score on the board. He can be the aggressor batting with captain Gill in the top order and give them a good start. Jake Fraser has a strike rate of 234.04.
The 22-year-old right-handed batter has established himself as one of the most dangerous white-ball batters, and with age by his side, many teams can look at him as a long-term investment and break the bank to secure his services. GT will have to spend some money to acquire his service.
4. Arshdeep Singh
The Punjab-born pacer will be definitely on the radar of GT as the Punjab Kings have released the left-arm pacer. Ashish Nehra being the coach of the team will surely love to have a bowler who can swing the ball in the early stages and bowl at the death as well. Arshdeep might get an RTM but GT will love to have the final say.
At the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, the left-arm bowler was tied for the most wickets. One reason for Arshdeep’s release might be that Punjab feels they can re-sign him at the auction for less than INR 18 crores. However, given his outstanding performance and the dearth of quality Indian seamers, he can be a choice.
3. David Miller
The supporters were shocked when Gujarat did not keep David Miller. The South African has long been an important part of GT’s batting order, serving as a finisher off the tee. Miller’s IPL and international experience have helped the Titans in their journey to this point.
Miller has been with the franchise since its IPL debut in 2022, scoring 481, 259, and 210 runs in three seasons, with a strike rate close to 150. He played nine games in the IPL 2024 and had a strike rate of 151, despite not scoring many runs.
2. Josh Inglis
The Australian wicketkeeper-batter can bat wherever in the order and might be a good fit for some GT. The 29-year-old, who has never featured in the IPL, has extensive T20 experience, having played for the Australian national team and in other events such as the Big Bash League (BBL).
The most recent example is Major League Cricket (MLC) in the United States. In 26 T20Is, Inglis has scored 679 runs, including two centuries, with a strike rate of 160.14. In the BBL, the right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman has 1747 runs, 14 fifties, and a strike rate of 140.54 for the Perth Scorchers.
1. Jofra Archer
Gujarat Titans did not retain any fast bowlers before the IPL 2025 super auction. Gujarat, which has released Mohammed Shami and Mohit Sharma, will enter the auction looking for premium-pace bowling alternatives.
Archer’s likely participation would combine him with spin-bowling all-rounder Rashid Khan, providing GT a high-quality eight overs. His mastery of the new ball, along with his batting ability, will make him an ideal addition to the IPL 2022 winners.
