5 footballers to watch out in Paris Olympics 2024

The Paris Olympics 2024 is just a few days away. The biggest multinational event will be attending over 10,000 athletes. It will begin from 26th July and will go on till 11 August 2024. The multinational event will be hosted by France with Paris being the main city. Other cities include the neighbouring cities of Saint-Denis, Le Bourget, Nanterre, Versailles, Vaires-sur-Marne, Bordeaux, Décines-Charpieu (Lyon), Nantes, Nice, and Saint-Étienne.  

Among 32 sports, Football will be an important event in the forthcoming major event. There will be some massive stars that will be taking the pitch for their respective countries to win the gold medal. The event allows U-23 footballers and three footballers will be over the mentioned age. Among these, are some upcoming footballers who are coming in the lights as well. The mix of experience and youngsters will make the event watch-worthy. 

Brazil won a second gold medal at the Olympics football in Tokyo 2020, although another South American country is predicted to win in Paris in 2024. They will look to win the medal once again and make a hat trick. In the article, we will take a look at some of the footballers in the Olympics.

Aitana Bonmati the FC Barcelona footballer, has been in amazing form. Presently she is considered one of the best players in women’s football. The 26-year-old won the Ballon d’Or and The Best FIFA Women’s Player Award for the 2022–23 season. Bonmati won the Player of the Tournament in the FIFA Women’s World Cup after Spain won 1-0 against England. 

4. Thiago Almada (Argentina)

Thiago Almada the young Argentina footballer has been impressive. In the last couple of years. He was not named in the Copa America 2024 squad. Javier Mascherano did not allow him due to workload management, he was not allowed. With the amount of talent he has in himself, the 23-year-old footballer looks to impress in the upcoming multinational event.

3. Michael Olise (France)

Michael Olise is another name that has come to light over the past couple of years. The Cyrstal Palace footballer impressed in the English Premier League 2023/24 season. That made him move from England to Germany. He joined Bayern Munich for the upcoming season. Olise will look to add a medal to his tally and provide some good football in his home nation.

Marta is arguably the biggest name in Women’s football. The legendary Brazilian will be hanging up her boots at the end of 2024. But not before she plays at her sixth Olympic Games in Paris. She has the record of scoring in five consecutive Games. The South American highest goal scorer with 118 goals will look to add more to her tally.

Julian Alvarez, has been the lucky charm for Argentina. The Manchester City striker has won every possible trophy with the nation. He recently was in the champions squad for La Albiceleste which won Copa America 2024. The 25-year-old striker will be taking part in the Olympics and will help the three-time world champions win the gold medal after 2008.
