10 Players to Keep an Eye on During the Summer Transfer Window

With only one month left before national leagues start in Europe, the Summer Transfer window is in full swing. Rumours and Transfer updates of several top players are flying around on the internet. And on top of that, many groundbreaking transfers have already taken place, including those of Kylian Mbappe, Leny Yoro, etc.

With the major chunk of the Summer Transfer window still ahead of us, let’s take a look at 10 such players whose names will often be heard in the course of July-August:

10. Victor Osimhen

PSG will be hunting in the transfer market looking for a replacement for their most recent departee, a certain Kylian Mbappe. And one name that has been on their list for some time now is that of the Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian had a wonder season in 2022-23 and Parisians will be hoping he brings that form back in Red and Blue next year.

9. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Kvaradona was on fire for Georgia in the recent edition of the Euros and many clubs would be interested to acquire his services. PSG and Liverpool have been following up on the player and it just feels as if this would be the right time for the Georgian winger to take the next step in his career.

8. Xavi Simmons

The PSG attacker has been club-hopping for the past few seasons now. But unlike many, Xavi Simmons has been building on his performances, something that has earned him a lot of recognition in the past 2 years. First at PSV and last season at Leipzig, he was one of the best players of the season. Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig have both shown interest in the Dutch international and are in the race for his signature.

7. Matthias De Ligt

When the 24-year Dutch defender joined Juventus after leading Ajax to a Champions League semifinal in 2019, it felt as if all was good in the life of Golden Boy award winner, Matthias de Ligt. His move to Bayern was supposed to be the “big step” but rather turned out to be the start of his downfall. While many were expecting him to lead Munich’s backline for years to come, he was given the role of a benchwarmer. Now, de Ligt is looking for a move out and many top clubs, most notably Manchester United seem interested.

6. Nico Williams

The Spanish winger recently set fire to the world stage after being one of Spain’s standout performers throughout the Euros. The scorer of the opening goal in the Euros Final is strongly linked to an FC Barcelona transfer in this transfer window. And there are many reasons why this would be a perfect fit for the player and the club.

5. Dani Olmo

Another player on Barcelona’s as well as on the radar of many other top clubs is the Golden Boot winner of Euros 2024, Dani Olmo. Being a replacement for Pedr, Olmo shocked the world with his performances during the Euros earning him spoilt for choice in choosing the next location in his career.

4. Riccardo Calafiori

After some top performances for Italy in the 2024 Euros, Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori is being monitored by several top clubs most notably Arsenal. Mikel Arteta wants Riccardo Calafiori to play Left Back to complete his dream defensive 4 for the Gunners.

3. Trent Alexander-Arnold

The Liverpool player is being approached by Real Madrid who view the English right-back as the long-term replacement of the 33-year-old Dani Carvajal. While initially, TAA’s decision to stay at Liverpool has always been solid, interest from Madrid, where his best mate Jude Bellingham plays is surely a tempting offer.

2. Joshua Kimmich

The Bayern faithful has been looking for a move away and has not signed a new contract with the Bavarians. It seems as if this is the summer Joshua Kimmich would finally make his move. Barcelona are very interested in the move but the midfielder himself has always been attracted by Pep Guardiola’s project at Man City

1. Julian Alvarez

It has been 2 years since the Argentine forward joined Manchester City and ever since has been always second-choice to Erling Haaland. Alvarez has picked up a good habit of winning in his career at just the age of 24 and has won every competition that he has ever been a part of. Now would be the perfect time for him to move out of Haaland’s shadow and be at the helm of a new project somewhere else. Because honestly, he is just too good to be a rotational player.
